Given the bad news about sleep deficit, is there any good news? Here is what happened to Allan, when he committed to trying my 20-minute energy balancing meditation.
This is what he said:
“When you invited me to try this, at first I thought, nah, this meditation stuff isn't really my cup of tea.
But there was a nagging feeling that maybe I could give it a shot. What did I have to lose?
So I set out to listen to it for seven days before passing judgment.
I chose to do this before going to sleep, as the past 9 months have been rough and incredibly stressful.
Night #1: I listened. It was interesting. I don't get the energy thing.
Night #2: I knew what to expect and was more relaxed. I stopped being concerned about not getting this ‘flowing of energy'.
The next morning, I realized I had had the best sleep in almost 9 months!
Night #3: Again, I just went with it. And again the next morning my sleep improved.
Night #4: I lost focus. I didn't sleep well.
Night #5: I had a crummy day. Yet I kept at the meditation.
Night #6 and #7: I continued listening to the meditation.
Those last 3 nights I got a solid rest. I woke up feeling great.
Setting the goal to keep experimenting for 7 days to give it a fair shake: I observed results that were positive and relaxing.
